FREQUENTLY ASKED
Insights to Singapore Cruise Centre
How to get from Singapore Cruise Centre to the City?
There are multiple ways to get to the city from Singapore Cruise Centre (SCC). However, it is highly recommended to book a private transfer with SARO to ensure a swift and stress-free exit from the terminal:
- SARO Transfer: A professional chauffeur picks you up in a premium vehicle directly from the terminal and transfers you to your destination at a flat fare.
- Ride-Hailing & Taxi: Often plagued by peak-hour surcharges and last-minute cancellations, causing distress to cruisers who want to leave the terminal quickly.
- MRT (Train): While the HarbourFront MRT Station is connected to the terminal, it is a distant walk and requires multiple train transfers before reaching the city.
- Public Bus: An economical option, but subject to long intervals between services and significantly longer travel time due to the rigid multi-stop routes.
Note: For guests flying into Singapore ahead of your cruise, pre-booking an airport transfer is the best way to ensure a seamless transition to your sailing.
What ships dock at the Singapore Cruise Centre?
The Singapore Cruise Centre at HarbourFront only serves smaller ships, commonly bound for regional sailings, such as vessels by Oceania Cruises, Regent Seven Seas Cruises and Silversea Cruises. This is mainly due to the height restrictions caused by the Sentosa Cable Car.
Larger international vessels by globally renowned operators such as Royal Caribbean International, Disney Cruise Line and Resorts World Cruises dock at the Marina Bay Cruise Centre.
Is Singapore Cruise Centre the same as HarbourFront Ferry Terminal?
Technically, yes. Both the Singapore Cruise Centre (SCC) and HarbourFront Ferry Terminal are located within the HarbourFront Centre at 1 Maritime Square, Singapore 099253. However, they operate through separate gates for cruise ships and regional ferries. For regional getaways, explore transfers to HarbourFront Ferry Terminal.
Note: While officially called the ‘Singapore Cruise Centre’, most locals and drivers often refer to the entire terminal as ‘HarbourFront Ferry Terminal’.
How far is Singapore Cruise Centre from the Airport?
The terminal is approximately 25km from Changi Airport (SIN) with a 25-35 minute travel time and 22km from Seletar Airport (XSP) with a 30-40 minute travel time via private transfer.
Pre-booking a professional airport transfer ahead of your arrival to Singapore is highly recommended to ensure a seamless transition to your respective cruise centre.
Are the attractions in Singapore far from Singapore Cruise Centre?
Most of Singapore’s popular attractions are close by, thanks to the centralised location of the terminal. With SARO, you can quickly reach key tourist spots with such as:
- Sentosa Island: 5-10 minutes. Home to Universal Studios, Oceanarium (S.E.A Aquarium) and many well-known hotels.
- Marina Bay Area: 10-15 minutes. You can find the iconic Gardens By The Bay and the Marina Bay Sands Hotel here.
- Orchard Road: 15-20 minutes. Shop at world-class malls like Ion Orchard, Paragon, Takashimaya and more.
Explore all of Singapore’s iconic landmarks like Little India, Chinatown and the Civic District at your own pace with SARO’s customised city tours.
